All About Asphalt LLC's sealcoat material recipe was created by Jerry Stratton and has been a product of many years of experience. We take the raw material from the manufacturer and improve it instead of dilute it. We add a certain ratio of minerals and additives to improve the wear, look and safety traction of the product.
Our clients experience anywhere from 2-3 years of wear time depending on the traffic and environmental conditions, some have reported up to 7 years of wear, before feeling the need to have the work done again.
Sealcoating helps protect the underlying pavement from air, sunlight, salts, and petroleum products. It also prevents water from turning hairline cracks into bigger ones. The aggregate in the mix enhances traction, acts as a wear layer, and fills small cracks. Also, sealcoating gives the driveway a uniform black color.
Our Procedure:
Apply sealcoat when it’s at least 65° F and there is no rain forecast for 24 hours.
Edge grass alongside the asphalt
Repair cracks in the asphalt and clear the pavement surface of all loose debris with a wire brush..
Clean and prime oil and gas stains.
Apply sealant to the driveway with a squeegee, or sprayer depending on layout.
Rope off the driveway and close it from car traffic for 24 to 48 hours. As soon as the material dries it can be opened to foot traffic.
